Overblog: Make the most of Social Media on your own blog.

Claiming to be the Number One blogging platform in Europe, Overblog, has now launch of its new platform into the UK. The idea behind Overblog is that it brings together the fragmented social postings of bloggers into a single live stream. Significantly, there are many aspects of Overblog that are entirely mobile friendly. For example, Overblog supports live video streaming from your mobile phone. The major incentive for bloggers to migrate to the Overblog platform, however, seems to be the chance to monetise their content. It’s also feasible to manage your blog straight from an iPad, iPhone, or Android device. This makes it possible to post; reply to comments; and check traffic analytics from a mobile device.

The ability to broadcast video on your blog in real time via your mobile is highly compelling. It is also relatively simple to populate the blog from existing social network sources including Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

The most appealing part is that Overblog claims it will find the best opportunities to monetise their users’ traffic.

All the blogger have to do is receive a royalties cheque every month. There’s no time commitment and users can stop when they wish to.

One popular US blogger who has defected over to the Overblog platform is Jason Falls with his personal blog – FallsOffTheRocker.
